How do people adapt to new places?

This week we talked a lot about how people adapt to new places.  It was discussed in class that when a student is new to a school they should adapt by being friendly to others, join extra-curricular activities, and take a tour of the new school.

When I first bought a house I had to adapt in several ways.  All of the bills and paperwork were very overwhelming.  I adapted by going out and buying some file folders and a crate to organize all of the mail.  I was unfamiliar with the area so I did some research on the internet about the what stores were nearby.  I also made a point to walk around the neighborhood and say hello to my neighbors.  These are some of the ways I adapted to my new home.

What is a way that YOU had to adapt to a new place?

  1. Dear Ms. Eck,

A time I had to adapt to a new place is when I first joined Ms. London's dance troupe. I was afraid to go to dance practices because I thought people would laugh at me when I danced. I was wrong though. The troupe didn't laugh at anyone when they danced. We all had fun at practices. Even when we were about to go on stage, we had FUN!!!!!!

  2. To begin with, people adapt to new places by helping others and getting use to the city. A person can also adapt to new places by making sure to not bring people down and keep them up. A person can help another person by telling them "You are always Welcome here", and othere good things to othere new people that is new at something.

In conclusion, these are the reasons how people can adapt to new places.

  6. Dear Ms.Eck,
The time I had to adapt to a new place is when I moved to Broadview Illinois. I was afraid of going to a new school, making new friends, and getting use to my neighbors. Then I met my neighbor, her name was Angel. She took my family on a tour around Broadview. After I got to know her it wasen't so bad. She said Broadview is a very peaceful and quiet place. So after that moving to Broadview wasen't that bad.

  7. People adapt to new places in different ways. One way is that a new student might introduce theirself and talk about why they moved and maybe what their old school was like. Another way is a new kid can ask someone to sit at lunch with them and talk. You can also adapt to new places by you going up to the new kid and start hanging out, maybe go to thier house after school. You can also help them with thier classwork if they dont get it. Theese are reasons how people adapt to new places!

  12. When I first went to Lindop I had to adapt to coming and going to school and making new friends.I had to wake up early and get ready for school and I wasn't used to that. So my dad set his alarm clock really loud so I can I can get up. He would also open my crib and tickle me justin case. Then when I went to school I was shy at first but my teacher, Ms.Shoenhider, introduced me to my classmates. They all wanted to be my friend! So everything went GREAT!!!
