IXL Minutes Report

How to View your IXL Minutes

1.                 Log onto IXL.

2.                 Click on the “Reports Tab” at the top.

3.                 Change the “Date Range” to “Custom”.

4.                 The date range should start on Sunday and end on Saturday.

5.                 Change the grade to “All”.

Students are highly encouraged to study skills that are appropriate for them individually.  5^th grade students should know their basic math facts.  Fractions are also a large part of the curriculum.

Our class goal is to earn 300 AR points by May 10th.  As we earn points, we earn rewards from Tony!

25% = 100 points = Ice-cream Sandwich

50% = 200 points =Chips

75% = 300 points = 30 minutes of Extra Recess

1. @ Computers- complete the webquest on the History of Irish Dancing. 
2. @ PB- gain an understanding of the history St. Patrick's Day by reading the presentations linked below.

Work diligently on your assignments.  Keep in mind you will have additional time in the computer lab to finish the assignments that require a computer (centers one and two).

How does an artist use music to inspire others?

Our question of the week is, "How does an artist use music to inspire others?" 

Below I have used the song, "We are the World" as an example for how many artists gathered together to inspire others.  This song inspires me, personally, to be a better person.  The message I take away from the song is to always remember to be the best version of myself that I can be.  I can "make a better day" for the students I teach.  I can "lend a helping hand" to others who need help in any way. If we all remember to live  this way, the world would really be a "better place".

Your assignment is to find a song where the artist(s) have inspired you, personally. On a loose leaf sheet of paper, write an explanation about why this song is inspirational.  Quote lyrics from the song in your paragraph as well.  The paragraph should be a minimum of 10 sentences.  Don't forget proper grammar and complete sentences.
